The Sport Relief Guildford Mile is a highly successful student-led project. Taking place in March every two years, hundreds of students and members of the public take part, running, walking, crawling, skating either 1, 3 or 6 miles as they raise money for Sport Relief.
What's fantastic about this event is that it not only raises much needed funds, it's a totally student-led project run by Surrey students!
Our Project Management team plan everything from the entertainment on the day to the health and safety and risk assessments, but this project cannot be successful without the support of many more day volunteers. They help with so many things happening on the day - that's everything from marshalling, directing runners, helping out in the entertainment area and assisting in the car park. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a huge community event taking place right on campus and will give you some good events experience, as well as being lots of fun. You could volunteer with your sports club or society or with a group of your friends - the more the merrier!
