Join the team of supervisors responsible for
leading the Freshers' Angels during
Moving In Weekend!
Welcome weekend is the moment when thousands of new students join us at Surrey, arriving with cars full of luggage and saying their farewells to family members. The Students' Union provides a team of 300 Freshers' Angels who are the smiling faces greeting brand new students for the first time. Freshers' Angels help students to move into their rooms and settle in during their first few hours of being a student - when help is needed most.
Leading the Freshers' Angels over welcome weekend are our team of volunteer 'Super Angels' - their role is to make sure the Freshers' Angels are happy and working together in their teams. Super Angels motivate Freshers' Angels and form a crucial part of the moving in weekend operation.
During Welcome Week itself, Super Angels are paid by the University to make sure students are supported through the registration process in the hall, and to show students around the campus.
You could be a Super Angel if you are enthusiastic about welcoming new students to Surrey, have great leadership and team working skills, and are confident to take a lead role in the process. We are looking for students who share our drive to make students' first days at Surrey the best possible experience for them and their families. Tell us why you think this role is for you.
Please note: you must be available for the shortlisting session. Allowances will be made for students on placement but this is the only exception.
