Every student automatically becomes a member of the Students' Union at University registration. Being a member of the Union entitles you to vote in the election, support the nomination of another student, and run for election yourself.
You need to be a registered student at the point that you submit your nomination for the election. If you run for a full time elected role, you will either need to take a year out from your studies, or you will need to have graduated (run for the position during your final year).
If you are studying on a postgraduate taught or research programme, you can still get involved in the election process. Some masters' students have not graduated by the time officers take up their roles (in July 2015). Please contact the Students' Union email@example.com if these circumstances apply to you.
