Welcome to the Academic Support page

The Students' Union is an independent body and is therefore the only place where you can receive confidential, impartial advice on issues that you may come across while studying at Surrey. The links below contain information on aspects of your University life that you hopefully should not encounter directly, however the Union supports hundreds of students each year who are going through a procedure such as an academic appeal, complaint or misconduct investigation.  If you do need our help with any of these issues, do not hesitate to contact us on ussu.advice@surrey.ac.uk or through information on the links below.

In case of an emergency situation* on campus call 3333 to speak to security who can call an ambulance if needed, or 999 if off campus.

*This includes mental health emergencies, such as feeling strong suicidal urges or experiencing distressing hallucinations.

The Centre for Wellbeing's web-page also gives details of other organisations to contact if you are in urgent need at the link below https://www.surrey.ac.uk/currentstudents/health/emergency/index.htm

If you are off campus there are a number of organisations who can provide support and someone to talk to such as the Samaritans who provide a free and confidential listening service for anyone in distress needing to talk. Call them on 08457 90 90 90 or 01483 505555 (24 hours a day). They can also be contacted by email at jo@samaritans.org
