  • Student Activities Manager (Maternity Cover for up to 12 months)

    • £30,883 per annum
      Full Time
      We have an exciting opportunity to join our team providing maternity cover for up to 12 months from July/August 2018 as a Student Activities Manager.  Student Activities comprises of a wide variety of student led initiatives, governed through the Activity Zone which is headed by the VP Activity.  The Student Activities Manager is the lead member of staff and works closely with the VP and staff team to develop student activities.  This includes sports, societies, fundraising with an emphasis on increasing participation, developing new activity opportunities and ensuring there is no barrier to student's involvement.
       
      The successful candidate must have:
      • Previous line management experience with the ability to motivate and lead a staff team
      • Proven experience of developing, managing and monitoring budgets
      • Solid knowledge of legal restraints, particularly health and safety legislation and government policy that affects student activities
      • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
      • Systematic and logical thinker with good vision and foresight
      • Proven ability to effectively manage a varied and demanding workload
      • Knowledge and understanding of student activities and student development
      • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to change
      • An understanding of University representative sport, particularly BUCS would be desirable
