What is the Students' Union?

The Students’ Union exists ‘to unify, support, develop and represent the students of the University of Surrey’. This makes it the heart of student life at Surrey, with all of the Union’s activities such as sports clubs, societies, social events, campaigns and skill development programmes aimed at fulfilling this mission.

The Students' Union is not for profit, just for students. This means that all the profits from the Union outlets go straight back in to making your Students' Union and therefore your university experience better. To see a break down of where your money goes click here

This site should give you, the student, a greater insight into how the Union works and how you can benefit from it. Remember, university life is not just about studying; it’s also about getting involved, meeting people and having fun!

Last term was very busy with Know Yourself Week, Elections and IFestival. Amongst all this fun and excitement the Student Written Submission for the QAA Audit in March was also submitted and the Exec started work on the Governance Review.

Although this term is not long, there is plenty to fill the time with the Union AGM, NUS Referendum, End of Year Show, Graduation Ball and Sabbatical Handover all to prepare for.

Where is the Students' Union?

The Students' Union building (Union House) is on Stag Hill, opposite Stag Hill Court Reception. It is signposted all around campus.
