University of Surrey Surf & Wake Club
We are an exciting sports club giving you the oppportunity to try out or further your skills in both surfing and wakeboarding! Whether your keen surfer, a pro wakeboarder, or you've never done it before, the Surf and Wakeboard Club is open to anybody who is up for a laugh!

Surfing
The surfing half of our club runs several trips down to Newquay in Cornwall . Newquay is in the South West of England, and attracts thousands of surfers each year, boasting impressive conditions for both beginners and pro's.
We usually leave on a Friday afternoon in a minibus and come back to the real world on Sunday evening. We stay in Matt's surf lodge which is close the beaches and bars! You don't need your own equipment to come on a surf trip, everything you need can be hired locally from Sunset Surf Shop for a mere £20 (includes surfboard, wetsuit, boots and gloves = bargain!)
Newquay not only has plenty of beaches to try out, but the shops and nightlife are also very attractive, with plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs to explore!
On average, a weekend trip to Newquay costs around £45, excluding food and drink and equipment hire.
This year we have been able to include surf lessons for beginners so if you fancy a lesson just let us know before one of the trips.

Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is a relatively new and up and coming sport, but its becoming increasingly popular!! We run as many trips as possible to a local Watersports Club near Thorpe Park, called JB Waterski, about a half an hour drive from the University. Once again, you don't need any experience or any equipment. Its all included in the price.
We are keen to have as many trips as possible throughout the year, provided we have enough people to come. All you need is a swimming costume or board shorts and a towel.
