Society Events

In addition to the weekly social meetings held during semester time, we also organise several other events throughout the course of the year!

Tease (Monhtly Club Night)

Launched in October 2005, Tease has been held on campus in the Students' Union nightclub Rubix on a monthly basis ever since. Organised by the LGBT Society committee, Tease music policy is a cosmopolitan mix of dance, pop and R&B with a relaxed, open-minded atmosphere.

You don't need to be gay to come along, and in the past Tease has featured performances from acts such as Booty Luv, former S Club singer Rachel Stevens and multi-platinum trance group SASH! whilst other live acts including acclaimed tribute bands The Scizzor Sisters and Take This, as well as the kitsch dance troupe The GlitterBanditz.

Other Activities

Throughout the year, we also arrange various social events ranging from bowling, ice-skating, clubbing (Brighton, Guildford, London), laserquest, going to the cinema and more!

On the otherhand, we've also be known to arrange debates and LGBT related discussions, especially to coincide with LGBT History Month.

Legendary Gay Brighton Trip

Established in 2006, The Legendary Gay Brighton Trip is hosted annually by Sussex University's LGBT society in February and is one of the largest student-run pub-crawls in the UK - and is still growing in size each year, with students from LGBT societies all over the country attending! For 2007 and 2008 we took two minibuses to Brighton on the Saturday evening and returned in the early hours of the Sunday morning. And we're hoping to do the same this coming year!
