Gliding is the cheapest way to learn to fly, especially as a student. Becoming a member of UniSglide will allow you to fly at even cheaper rates than normal, and have full access to Lasham gliding society's facilities.
In general if you join the club for £10 you will receive one free flight per week. Most people usually have 2 or 3 flights in a day. This will mean a good day out at the airfield will cost you £16 for a set of 3 training flights.
For anyone who wants to know the full details - the price list below shows the prices for paid up members of UniSglide.
| Gliding club membership per year (must hold a Unisport card) | £10.00 |
| Winch launch (first one each week is free) | £7.75 |
| Winch launch(after 10am) | £8.25 |
| Soaring fees (we envisage that all soaring fees will be paid by the union, only people flying well above the average will be charged - contact the committee if you would like further details of how this works) | £0.53/min |
| Aerotow to 2000' (you may have a £8 discount on this rather than the free winch launch - making it £21.25) | £30.00 |
| Additional 500' on aerotow | £3 |
| Petrol money for trips (depending on number of people on trip) | £2 to £5 |
| Falke motor glider time (the £8.25 may be used towards this) | £1.25/min |
| Premium membership (gives you half price winch launches for the year - this means you will get two free flights per week) | £100.00 |
If you wish to try out gliding then join the club and come along to claim your free flight. Notices of trips are sent out to people on the email list and on the News oage of this mini site.
Before becoming a member of Lasham Gliding Society (the union pays for this) you must read the mandatory safety sections (in red) of the Lasham manual .
