Welcome

Photo of the shack window Welcome to the University of Surrey Electronics and Amateur Radio Society (EARS). All members of the University are welcome to attend whether or not they hold an amateur radio licence. The society is for both Electronics and Radio Enthusiasts. The society is often a good source of advice on construction projects with an extensive library and through the expertise of the membership. Various items of “re-cycled” equipment and components are available for projects and EARS are always happy to receive surplus items to add to the junkbox.

Meetings

The society holds informal weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 1pm. These are held in 01AC03 and are usually used to discuss projects, “play radio” and have a chat. Feel free to come along, whether you’ve been before or not.

Committee

The committee is made up of students of the University. The committee is elected each year at the annual general meeting. The AGM is held in the first term, around the end of October or the beginning of November. This year’s (2006-2007) committee members are as follows:

  • Chairperson - Beatrice Smith
  • Secretary - Daniel Clapp
  • Treasurer - Dominic Cleal
