What is DAVE?

The DAVE project is a professional skills training project run by students for students.

What does DAVE stand for?

Development - Develops your transferable personal and professional skills to enable you to reach your potential.
Accreditation - If you complete the core sessions and 2 pick and mix sessions at each level you will be awarded a Bronze, silver or Gold Certificate.
Volunteering - As well as all the sessions being voluntary, you can also use your involvement in Do More to complement DAVE, putting in to practice what you have learnt.
E
mployability - The whole point of the DAVE project is to ensure you become even more marketable to prospective employers.
You can do which ever DAVE sessions you want whenever you want while you are a Surrey student.

 Why do DAVE?

According to the Associate Graduate Recruiters 2007 survey over 40% of graduate positions went unfilled because graduates did not have soft skills such as communication and team work.  DAVE can help you understand how these skills can be developed as well as some of the theory behind them.

How do I get a DAVE certificate?

To get Bronze, attend Time Management and Working in a Team, as well as 2 DAVE Extra or Pick and Mix Sessions.

To get Silver, come to Assertiveness and Problem Solving, as well as 2 DAVE Extra or Pick and Mix Sessions.

To get Gold go to Project Management and Leadership, as well as 2 DAVE Extra or Pick and Mix Sessions.

If you have not recieved a DAVE certificate that you think you should have please contact Emma at e.beauclair@surrey.ac.uk

The DAVE sessions can play an integral part in your Personal Development Planning. To read more on that click here!
