Activities Administrator (full time)
£18,246-£21,019 per annum
We are looking for a full time Activities Administrator to join our team. The role will provide effective administrative support for our student activities, in particular sport along with working closely with the VP Sport and VP Societies. The Administrator will be responsible for the support our participation in BUCS including fixtures, booking facilities and liaising with officials. It will also include assisting club treasurers with their club budgets and providing advice regarding budget requests. The Administrator will also work closely with Team Surrey, our partnership with the Surrey Sports Park Limited, including spending one day per week at the sports park.
The role will involve supporting our student run societies including ensuring risk assessments are reviewed and inventories are maintained and up to date. The Activities Administrator will act as committee secretary to a number of committees taking minutes and ensuring relevant paperwork is distributed.
We are looking for a candidate who has some previous administrative experience; who is highly organised with good attention to detail; proactive and flexible; excellent communication and interpersonal skills and who enjoys working in a fast paced environment meeting set timescales. It is vital the administrator can develop excellent working relationships with both students, elected officers and full time staff both in the Union and the University.

Volunteering & Engagement Coordinator
(part time - 3 days/24 hours per week)
£18,246-£21,019 per annum (pro rata)
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Volunteering & Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for the management and coordinator of student volunteers and will identify and develop new volunteering projects and opportunities.
We are looking to develop our capacity to reach the local community and drive our volunteering programme to the next level. The coordinator will do this by creating new links with local organisations that can provide opportunities to students to gain skills and explore new experiences. They will help to identify to students how they can maximise the benefits of volunteering and how they can develop skills through volunteering activities and also capture their own learning and development.
The successful candidate must have:
- Excellent organisational skills
- Effective communicator both verbal and written
- Abiliity to motivate others
- Forward thiniing
- Ideally have some previous experience within the volunteering sector
- Ability to supervise others
- Self starter and able to manage own workload
- Willingness to work flexibly
- Passionate about recognising the potential in all volunteers

People & Communities Ltd (contract catering company providing catering for the new Veterinary School construction site at the University of Surrey)
Salary between £6.80-£7.00 per hour depending on experience
An exciting opportunity is available for two Catering Assistants to join the large construction site for the new University Veterinary School for the next 12 months. Hours are flexible and available for between 1-35 hours per week 7.30 a.m-2.30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Candidates must have good communication skills, Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate (or be willing to undertake the appropriate online training), experience of working in a customer facing environment and experience of serving, making and cooking or preparing food.
