Volunteering & Engagement Coordinator

30 hours per week - temporary contract (up to 12 months initially)
£20,423 pro rata per annum
The University of Surrey Students' Union has an exciting new opportunity for a Volunteering & Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for the management and coordination of student volunteers and will identify and develop new volunteering projects and opportunities.
We are looking to develop our capacity to reach the local community and drive our volunteering programme to the next level. The coordinator will do this by creating new links with local organisations that can provide opportunities for students to gain skills and explore new experiences. They will help to identify to students how they can maximise the benefits of volunteering and how they can develop skills through volunteering activities and also capture their own learning and development.
The successful candidate must have:
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Previous experience within the volunteering sector/volunteering
- Ability to supervise and motivate others
- Forward thinking individual with a flexible attitude to work
- Self starter who can manage their own workload
- Passionate about recognising the potential in all volunteers
The role will initially be available for up to 12 months and will be on a part time basis working 30 hours per week on a flexible basis.
